Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of Distinguished Chair in Psychology within the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is credited for starting contemporary research on children's memory of eyewitnesses and using child victims when in court. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer with numerous grants, and has was awarded many international and national honors. She has advised numerous government bodies and administrations throughout the world regarding policies and studies related to treatment of child victims by the justice system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center that was formerly known as it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She has been a member of various professional associations, such as The Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founder member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
